Hey, I've just been listening to (IMHO) some rather lovely tunes by Jakob Svanholm from Stockholm, Sweden. He released a track called Counting Stars under the name Radix on the excellent Monotonik label (www.mono211.com) last year. I rather liked it so I was pleased to find he has been busy recording under the name Sinespree and releasing more music on mp3.com . I love these tunes! I always look out for music with lots of soul and feeling (hence I was rather surprised to hear IDM described as emotionless recently, but that's by-the-by). However, so much of the soulful side of IDM tends towards the sad and melancholy. (Recent examples, Gimmik and Cottage Industries) That's not a bad thing, IMO, but it's so nice to hear these tracks from Sinespree which are really rather happy in a pleasingly sentimental way. They put a smile on my face anyway! MP3.com - sinespree : http://www.mp3.com/sinespree I especially like I Realize, the first track. Heck, they're all good! Here is Jakob's page on Trax in Space where he was Artist Of The Month in July last year. There is an artist profile and some MP3s and MODS some of which aren't on mp3.com and some of which are different versions of tracks which are.
